Useful Tips |
| Traffic - by Steven von Marenholtz from Dutch Harbor AK |
| Always keep your eyes moving, make sure you know exactly what is going on around you. I am 33 and have only been involved in one moving accident, I was hit by a 96 year old woman while I was moving through a through way and she was coming off a stop sign. I used to ride a motorcycle in Seattle, that will make you notice everything around you. |
| Traffic - by Marvin from Georgia, USA |
| Wanna Drive in Rio? Then fit in or lose out. Seems everybody, including the cops, run red traffic lights. Don't stop at a pedestrian crossing or you'll have some volatile guy trying to shove the rear end of your car.It is wise to tip service providers, don't be an ungly American, courtesy does pay. Parking is a problem too, there ain't none. But Rio is great all the same, just look after your belongings, don't show nothin' |
Rio de Janeiro Overview |

Beyond the conventional image of Rio de Janeiro and the rhythm of the Samba, miniscule bikinis and sophisticated nightclubs, lie wildlife and nature, historical buildings and an impossibly beautiful landscape of mountains rising from the beaches of an azure sea. |
